Although the principles of the Alexander Technique may make intellectual sense to us we are not always aware of the habits that we have that are causing us harm or difficulty. In fact, what is habitual usually feels comfortable even if it is causing us harm.

Although, once again, the principles of the Alexander Technique may make intellectual sense to us, one has to experience a session to get a fuller idea of what it is about. The only way to answer the question, “but will it work for me?” is to try it. One has to experience the guidance of a teacher’s words and hands in practice not in theory.
