Whilst not 'easy reading', it remains essential reading for any serious student of the Alexander Technique...

The Use of the Self

This is the third and shortest book published by F M Alexander, the originator of the Alexander Technique. Published in 1932, the same year that Alexander started his first Teacher Training Course, the first chapter contains a detailed description of how he discovered and evolved what has come to be known as 'The Alexander Technique'. 
 
Though old fashioned in it's language, it is a must read for those interested in the evolution of the Technique and it's place within medicine and education.

The Universal Constant in Living

This is the fourth and final book, published by F M Alexander, the originator of the Alexander Technique when he was 76 years old. Published first in 1941, with subsequent editions published in 1943 and 1946, this edition contains all prefaces and significant detailed historical and contextual notes by Jean Fischer. 
 
Dedicated to those who lost their lives fighting for the allied forces in WW1 and WW2, Alexander provides ample testimonials, insights and significant food for thought which is still extremely relevant today.
