by F M Alexander

This is the second book published by F M Alexander, the originator of the Alexander Technique. Published in 1923, Alexander writes of his work, the Alexander Technique from the basis of Sensory Appreciation in four sections:

1 Sensory Appreciation in it's Relation to Man's Evolutionary Development
2 Sensory Appreciation in it's Relation to Learning and Learning to Do
3 Sensory Appreciation in it's Relation to Man's Needs
4 Sensory Appreciation in it's Relation to Happiness

Whilst not 'easy reading', it remains essential reading for any serious student of the Alexander Technique who wants to search into the depth and breadth of the work and the developing thinking of F.M. Alexander within the historical context. With an Introduction by John Dewey and further well researched Introductory Notes by Jean Fischer, it is a must read.
