An event for Alexander Technique teachers and senior students: 'The Alexander Technique & Dart’ with Robin John Simmons on Saturday afternoon of 24th Aug 2019 between 1:30pm and 4:30pm at 10 Harley Street, London W1G 9PF.

This practical event will introduce you, or refresh you, into the evolutionary world. By engaging in developmental processes that are directly applicable to Alexander Technique teaching, you will discover new ways of both working on yourself and of working with pupils. If you prefer the conventional chair and table type of teaching you will gain new insights as to how these ways of working are so vital and meaningful. If you have an interest in expanding your range of ways of working you will discover new possibilities that can be taught to and applied by any of your pupils. Since working on yourself is such a basic requirement of any Alexander Technique teacher, these procedures offer possibilities to expand your catalogue of self-help processes to enhance both inhibition and direction.

"I use aspects of these procedures in almost every lesson I teach since I learnt them in 1970. If you would like to explore, or refresh, an evolutionary approach which includes inputs from the evolution of movement and also from the developmental anatomy of embryology, then join me for a few hours in August."

Please wear socks – or bring them with you!

Robin John Simmons trained with the Carringtons (1969-71). He learnt the Dart Procedures during his training. He has continued to work with them ever since that time and in 2015 produced his book The Evolution of Movement, linking the Dart Procedures to the Alexander Technique, which was well received and has been subsequently published by Mouritz. Together with his wife Béatrice he runs a training school in Zürich and travels the world giving presentations based on his book.

All participants will receive a record of attendance after the event.

Pricing: 25% student discount available with code XCZGNF.

Please book early to avoid disappointment as places are limited and note that no refunds will be possible after 10th Aug 2019.
