An event for Alexander Technique teachers, 'ALEXANDER’S PRINCIPLE OF THE “PRIMARY CONTROL” or the Importance of the relationship between the neck, head and back', with Anne Battye and your hosts, the directors from Hite, on Saturday afternoon of 15th June 2024 from 1:30-4:30pm at 10 Harley Street, London W1G 9PF.
An
interactive workshop designed to examine, and hopefully clarify, the importance of this Principle.
Dr Wilfred Barlow quotes FM Alexander as saying “the misuse of the head and neck is prior to misuse elsewhere. Misuse elsewhere can only be dealt with after the correction of the misuse of the head and neck”.
It is “primary” in that it is the first area where we need to unlock muscle tension and “control” in that this relationship determines the use of the whole of the psychophysical self.
Anne is looking forward to exploring with you the importance of this statement and its relevance to the way in which we work with - and on - ourselves and our pupils.
Anne Battye
trained with Marjory Barlow and was her assistant on her training courses 1969-76. Anne teaches privately and is also a STAT moderator.
All participants will receive a record of attendance after the event.
Please book early to avoid disappointment as places are limited and note that no refunds will be possible after 1st June 2020.
